Firebird Shawl
Get ready for cooler nights and knit a gorgeous colorwork shawl with us!
Time & Location
Aug 24, 2019, 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Weird Sisters, 8836 North Lombard Street, Portland, OR, USA
Event Details
Teacher: Theressa Silver
With it’s cable backbone and garter stitch ridges this shawl has
a modern edge . Subtle shaping creates curved wings that stay
perfectly wrapped around your shoulders. The combination of
fingering and DK yarns adds even more texture and makes it a great
weight for keeping warm on a cool spring evening. Theressa will
take you step by step through the set-up process and explain how
the color transitions work. If you’ve never cabled before, that’s fine;
Theressa will teach you how! By the time you leave class you’ll be
ready to finish your project with confidence.
--
Skill Level: Confident Beginner
Materials: Approx. 400 yds fingering weight yarn AND 400 yds DK weight yarn, US size 5, 40” circular needle.
- We suggest a solid color for the ridges and a variegated for the main but ix it up anyway you'd like!
Yarns available for purchase at Weird Sisters or bring your own.
Pattern will be provided in class.
