We try our best to match true color in our photographs but please be aware that our screen colors may differ from yours.
Diversity + Inclusion
Weird Sisters was established in 2019 with the central mission of providing support for you on your creative journey. That includes a commitment to providing that in an inclusive, positive environment that celebrates the diverse range of people in our community and we continue to hold this as part of our core mission.
In and outside the shop, online and in-person, all are welcome in our spaces, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, gender expression or identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic class, physical appearance, ability, or religion.
We’re committed to modeling diversity and inclusion for the entire fiber arts community and consider this when selecting our suppliers, teachers, and employees. We seek out brands that practice these values, and support local BIPOC makers, suppliers and organizations. We feature a monthly community partner or non-profit that receives $5 of each of our Patreon membership fees each month. We focus on organizations that support BIPOC communities in North Portland and other groups systemically left out of the conversation and denied opportunity.
Weird Sisters has a zero tolerance policy in our spaces for racism, hate speech, ableism, discrimination, and bullying of any kind.
If you are a BIPOC maker, fiber artist, or dyer interested in collaborating with us, or having a trunk show with us, please reach out to us.
We acknowledge that our brick & mortar shop is built on the traditional land of the Cowlitz, Chinook and Clackamas People and pay our respects to them as the original stewards of this land.
