Learn to Knit a sweet basic hat in two classes!

Teacher: Theressa Silver
Sessions: 3 hours over 2 sessions
When: Saturdays, August 17th and August 24th
Time: 1:00pm-2:30pm
Skill Level: Beginner - Students must be comfortable knitting and purling,
have some experience reading a pattern.
Recommended that you have taken Learn to Knit: Getting Started or have a good understanding of how to cast on, knit and purl.
Materials: Bring your own or available for purchase at Weird Sisters
- 200 yds worsted weight yarn
- Set of 5 US size 6 double pointed needles.
- Set of 5 US size 8 double pointed needles.
- Pattern will be provided in class.
The perfect next class for the student who has mastered knits
and purls and wants to do more or for anyone who wants to
learn how to knit in the round. In the first week we will focus on
the differences between knitting flat and in the round and the
tips and tricks for not getting tangled up or twisted. Students
will cast on their hat. In the second session we cover the
shaping and finishing that turns your tube into a hat.

Theressa Silver is a freelance designer, teacher, and author. Her most recent book, “Knitting Wild” showcases the beauty of America’s national parks and wildlife refuges. Theressa is a biologist by training and the influence of math and science can be seen in many of her designs. When she is not knitting she likes to be outside kayaking or hiking. She lives in Milwaukie, OR with her husband, son, two cats, and a dog, all of whom occasionally participate one way or another in the knitting process. Theressa can be found on Ravelry and Instagram as “argentgal.”

All of our classes require a minimum of 2 students unless otherwise noted.
Class may be cancelled if minimum enrollment is not met.
A full refund will be given in the case of cancellation.
