Moonrise Brioche Shawl
Learn the brioche stitch and create this beautiful geometric and playful shawl!
Time & Location
Aug 17, 2019, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Weird Sisters, 8836 North Lombard Street, Portland, OR, USA
Event Details
Teacher: Theressa Silver
Brioche and garter stitch combine in this shawl to create vertical
and horizontal stripes. This is a great project for playing with color
and texture. The sample shawl was knit with a speckle gradient
yarn combined with a semi-solid. Theressa will take you through the
set up and shaping for a crescent shawl and teach the basic brioche
stitches. By the time you leave class you will have worked several
repeats of the pattern and be ready to finish the shawl at home.
--
Skill Level: Students must be comfortable knitting and purling, and
have experience reading a pattern.
Materials: 2 skeins (at least 400 yards each) of contrasting colors
of fingering weight yarn, US size 5 40 inch circular needle.
Available for purchase at Weird Sisters or BYOY (Bring your own yarn!).
Pattern will be provided in class.
